Orlando holidays

There is always a moment in everyone’s life when the words “I’m going to Disney World” might pop out of your mouth, you can be 5 or 50, fun has no age, it can be the celebration for a big achievement like graduation, or just to have some quality family fun, since Orlando is considered America’s family fun capital. Orlando is home to Walt Disney World, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and other mega theme parks. These parks can keep your family occupied for almost a week, with lots of family friendly restaurants, shops and reasonably priced hotels.

Walt Disney World is home to the Magic Kingdom, 107 acres of adventure enrolled in seven lands with different characteristics for everyone to enjoy. Also, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a movie-inspired theme park to remember the glamour of Old Hollywood with its famous attractions, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Rock n’ Roller Coaster, starring Aerosmith. Animal Kingdom and Epcot are also “must-sees” on your Disney vacation.

The younger crowd might enjoy a night out at Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island, or even an afternoon at some of the Water Parks like Typhoon Lagoon. The rides in Islands of Adventure, superhero themed, might also be more attracted to teens and an older audience. The whole family can shop around the factory outlets or swing a few at the numerous golf courses available around Orlando. There is so much to do whether rain or shine.

But sometimes visitors don’t get to see much of Orlando, other than the theme parks. Smaller attractions like the Kissimmee Rodeo, The Pirates Dinner Adventure or the Capone’s Dinner and Show might bring you back to older eras and have a taste of history and legend in Florida. Blue Spring State Park is home to 153 manatees, and you can also pet the animals at the Green Meadows Farm or hop on the Rivership Romance for a cruise along the St. Johns River, getting more in touch with Florida’s heritage.

The best months to visit are September and October; it is still warm, but not humid. If you like humidity and sweaty tourists, then you should visit Orlando in the summer (June – August). Crowds are also important in making your decision, December in Orlando is a beautiful season, try to visit the first two weeks of the month since the crowds don’t arrive till the end.
